The Acqua Village in Cecina is a tiki-Hawaiian themed water park planted inside the pine wood, and the first thing you see on the way in is a mountain of fake rock seventeen metres high with a waterfall coming down it. It is called Lua Pele, it is the volcano everything in the park turns around, and two slides run through it. The rest is seven slides, five pools, brightly painted totems grinning everywhere and enough palm trees to make you forget that the real sea is four hundred metres away. You go in during the morning and come out at six, when it closes.

Getting there

  • Via Tevere 25, 57023 Marina di Cecina (LI), inside the pine wood
  • You arrive from the Aurelia, leaving it at Cecina and following signs for the marina: ordinary road, no narrow stretches and no gradients
  • The motorhome is left in the car park in front of the entrance, which is free: wide manoeuvring room, surfaced ground
  • From the vehicle to the turnstiles is two hundred metres, on the flat
  • From Marina di Bibbona it is seven kilometres by road, or five on the cycle path through the pine wood for anyone with bicycles

Notes

  • The season is short: in 2026 from 13 June to 13 September, every day from 10am to 6pm. Outside those dates the park is closed, and the dates change every year
  • The price given above is the 2026 gate price: 28 euros full, 22 reduced up to age 11. Group schemes and online tickets cost less, and are worth looking at first
  • Lua Pele is the big attraction: the seventeen-metre volcano, with the projection inside the tube that makes it feel like going down a river of lava, and the two slides Loko, the fire one, and Waho, the flying one, which you ride on a rubber ring
  • The others: Pohaku, the stone slide, eleven metres and six wavy lanes side by side, the one you do as a family; Intrigo, rafting and a fast descent; Twister, a dark tube with a surprise at the end; and then Kamikaze and Anaconda
  • The pools: Kauai, the island of waves, is the big one; Moku is the children's; Makai Beach is the corner with the hydro-massage, for when you finally sit down
  • Anyone who wants the slides without queueing should arrive at opening time: by eleven the stairs of the towers are already full, and they stay that way until the afternoon
  • Inside there are changing rooms, showers, lockers, sunbeds and parasols: lockers and sunbeds are paid for separately
  • Closing at 6pm leaves the evening free: from here to Livorno is a little over thirty kilometres, and you arrive in time for dinner
