The Oceanogràfic in Valencia

forty-five thousand animals of more than five hundred species, nine themed areas and the longest underwater tunnel in Europe

a full dayDuration
April 2025Visited

The Oceanogràfic sits at the southern end of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, in the drained bed of the Turia, under the water lily roofs designed by Félix Candela. Inside are forty-five thousand animals of more than five hundred species, split across nine themed areas running from the Mediterranean to the Arctic. There is a lot of walking, and much of the route between one tank and the next is in the open air: the ocean tunnel, the belugas, the penguins, the dolphinarium and the wetlands each ask for their own time, and four hours go by unnoticed. The motorhome stays at the park, you arrive by metro and tram.

Getting there

  • The motorhome stays at the park: from the Nomadic Experience you walk to the Albalat dels Sorells metro station, on line 3
  • The change onto the tram is made between Xàtiva and Alacant, the terminus of line 10, linked by a pedestrian underpass
  • Line 10 stops at Oceanogràfic, right in front of the complex: the previous stop, Ciutat Arts i Ciències, leaves you at the far end
  • The entrance is on Carrer d'Eduardo Primo Yúfera, and from there the route inside is flat
